stands for Very Small Aperture Terminal.
›› The term VSAT designates both
the support, which through a parabolic dish of reduced size
makes it possible to connect directly to a satellite for a permanent
connection, and the connection itself.
›› This technology abolishes
notions of distance.
›› A VSAT system is made of two
parts: a transceiver, which is an emitting/receiving antenna
placed outside your building that points towards the communications
satellite, or transponder, and a device placed inside your building
that acts as an interface between the antenna and your computer
equipment. |
